Turkmenistan forecasts volume of grain to be harvested in 2022

Turkmenistan plans to harvest 1.4 million tons of grain in 2022, Trend reports citing the press service of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

According to the information, mass sowing of winter wheat began in Turkmenistan on September 3. Thus, in 2022 it is planned to collect wheat grains from 690,000 hectares of land, including in the Akhal region – 40,000, Mary – 345,000, Lebap – 310,000, Dashoguz – 265,000 and 80,000 tons in the Balkan region.

To the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan reports that in the country as a whole, 1972 arable, 1545 row-crop tractors, seeders and other equipment from John Deere, CLAAS, Case are involved in the sowing campaign.

Also, under the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the supply and demand emerging in the market of grain crops will be studied, taking into account all factors, including forecasts.

According to the forecast of experts of the International Grains Council in a new report for the 2021-2022 agricultural season, there is a downward trend in the volume of wheat production in the world.

Turkmenistan first began exporting wheat 10 years ago, and already in 2015 it was awarded a special award by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for achievements in ensuring food security as one of the Millennium Development Goals.
