BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 15

By Farida Nuri - Trend:

Some 1,000 hectares have been allotted for sowing winter barley this year in the north Dashoguz province of Turkmenistan, Trend reports on Oct.15 citing Business Turkmenistan.

In the Saparmyrat Turkmenbasy district 250 hectares were allotted for the mentioned crop.

Besides, barley will be grown on 150 hectares this year in the Koneurgenc and Akdepe districts of the country.

In the country’s Dashoguz province, farmers grow several domestic and foreign varieties of barley.

Since winter barley is one of the main feeds in the field of animal husbandry in the Dashoguz province, at present, domestic scientists-breeders are consistently working on the development of new, more advanced varieties of barley, including those adapted to growing in difficult weather and climatic conditions of the northern province.
