Turkmenistan looks to launch new project jointly with UNDP, WB

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, together with UNDP and the World Bank (WB), are planning to launch a new project to respond to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing the Turkmen media.

The project is aimed at strengthening national capacities for testing and treatment, professional development of health workers, procurement of reagents, drugs and medical equipment, and elimination of social and health risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The project will support the implementation of digital solutions for the control of infectious diseases.

Turkmenistan has adopted the National Plan for Preparedness and Response of the Country to Acute Infectious Diseases (CPRP), developed in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan presented a roadmap for the implementation of this document.
