BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. Turkmenistan has allowed the passage of foreign vehicles through its territory since June 1, 2022, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the "Turkmenawtoulaglary" agency.
Foreign cars together with drivers are allowed to cross the border on the Sarakhs-Farap-Sarakhs route, provided that a number of requirements are met.
Thus, cargo carriers from Iran will be able to get to the border with Uzbekistan and return through the land territory of Turkmenistan.
Prior to that, Iranian trucks could enter the territory of Turkmenistan through the Inche-Burun border crossing, from where goods were loaded onto Turkmen trucks for subsequent transportation to their destination.
The permit will be granted in order to effectively use the international transport corridors of Turkmenistan and increase the volume of cargo transportation.
