BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. The number of POS terminals in Turkmenistan amounted to 41,145 as of June 1, 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
According to the bank, the largest number of POS terminals is in the city of Ashgabat (13,124), as well as in the Lebap (7,236) and Mary (7,033) regions.
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank has the largest number of POS terminals in the reporting period - 9,211. Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank (7,854) and Halkbank State Commercial Bank (7,852) follow this indicator.
Over the past six years, the number of POS terminals in circulation in Turkmenistan has increased almost 8 times. So, if on January 1, 2016 there were 5,223 POS terminals in Turkmenistan, then on January 1, 2022 this figure reached 41,071.
