BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Hiroyuki Yamamoto, Trend reports citing the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the diplomats discussed the importance of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in multilateral formats.
The parties noted that Japan is an important partner of Turkmenistan in the field of investment and banking. In this direction, they stressed the expediency of intensifying investment activities in close cooperation with leading Japanese banks and companies.
At the same time, the diplomats discussed the organization of the 14th joint meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation in Tokyo, scheduled for the end of this year, and discussed the possibility of holding the "Central Asia + Japan" interparliamentary forum in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) next year, designed to become an effective platform for discussing topical issues of multilateral interparliamentary partnership.
