BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. Turkmenistan stands for strengthening efforts to identify and eliminate barriers in the transport and communication sphere of the Caspian states, Trend reports citing Orient news.

This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov at the plenary session of the 2nd Caspian Economic Forum in Moscow (Russia).

According to him, it is important to build practical cooperation between the countries within the framework of the agreement between the Caspian littoral states in the field of transport, which entered into force and was signed in the Kazakh city of Aktau in August 2018.

He stressed that the document regulates joint actions in expanding multilateral cooperation, strengthening work on identifying and removing barriers in the transport and communication sphere, as well as opening and developing new transport and logistics corridors to increase communication potential.

"Our country is actively involved in the creation of international transport corridors Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Türkiye, Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan- Iran- Oman - Qatar and TRACECA. Furthermore, the country has implemented projects for the construction of road and railway bridges across the Amu Darya River, international airports in the cities of Ashgabat, Turkmenbashi, Turkmenabat and Kerki, as well as the Turkmenbashi International Seaport," Geldimyradov said.
