BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. During a business trip to Busan (South Korea), representatives of the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation took part in a number of events related to the establishment of bilateral cooperation in the field of shipbuilding between Turkmenistan and South Korea, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation.

According to the information, the trip was carried out at the invitation of the Korean side in order to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) and the Turkmen Balkan Shipyard and Ship Repair Plant OJSC.

During the visit, representatives of Turkmenistan held a meeting with representatives of the Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute, discussing the main areas of cooperation in the field of shipbuilding. Representatives of the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation also visited the regional centers of the KOMERI research institute.

Furthermore, a meeting was held with representatives of the Movena GmbH consulting company. Representatives of the Movena company stated that they had thoroughly analyzed the available information about the Balkan shipyard and were ready to cooperate in launching shipbuilding and managing the shipyard at the plant.

At the end of the working visit, the parties once again confirmed that they would establish cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea in training shipbuilding specialists and improving the production of the plant.
