BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. The Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf held a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov during which the parties discussed joint cooperation in the field of transport, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
During the meeting, Raja Pervez Ashraf noted the productive nature of relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan and also suggested joining efforts to expand regional communication by air, land, and sea.
He stressed that the Pakistani side in relation to the Central Asian countries relies on a policy of result-oriented interaction, mentioning five key areas of cooperation - politics, trade and investment, energy and communications, security, and personnel exchange.
Also, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, speaking about bilateral ties, suggested that Turkmenistan use the Pakistani ports of Gwadar, Bin Qasim, and Karachi for trade with the Middle East and Africa.
In turn, the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Pakistan expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation, and also once again accepted the words of gratitude of the friendly country for providing humanitarian assistance during the floods in the southern Pakistani provinces in September 2022.
