Turkmenistan discloses area of land for winter wheat in Lebap region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. The area of land sown with winter wheat in the Lebap region in the south of Turkmenistan has been published, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, 170,000 hectares of land have been sown in the region this year, from which 345,000 tons of winter wheat are planned to be harvested.

In general, 690,000 hectares of land were sown throughout the country this year, from which 1.4 million tons of winter wheat are planned to be harvested.

Furthermore, according to data on the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, the growth rate of production volumes amounted to 104.8 percent.

Turkmenistan provides targeted support to the development of the agricultural sector. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial complex is being re-equipped and modernized, the chemical industry is developing, modern tractors, combines and other machineries are being purchased.
