BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Entrepreneurs from the UAE purchased a cotton yarn from Turkmen production during trading on February 11 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
Businessmen from the UAE purchased 396 tons of various types of cotton yarn at the exchange. The total amount of the transaction amounted to 13.2 million Turkmen manats ($3.7 million).
At the same time, according to the exchange, on February 3, 2023, entrepreneurs from Serbia purchased 315 tons of dry licorice root extract, at $3,500 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $1.1 million.
Turkmenistan plans to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of over 30 projects in the textile industry by 2025.
In general, over the years of independence, about $2 billion were invested in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile enterprises.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
