BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Representatives of the transport sector of Turkmenistan discussed the possibility of increasing the volume of multimodal transit transportation of goods, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
During the meeting held in the building of the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service), the Turkemenulaggozegchilik State Enterprise told the interested participants of the meeting about the conditions for granting discounts when issuing invoices and permits for car owners for the transportation of goods from third countries and loading goods on the vehicle in Turkmenistan.
The participants of the meeting also visited a private cargo yard built by a member company of the association - Halkara Turkmen Logistik state enterprise near the Artyk checkpoint of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan. In the newly opened 7.5-hectare terminal there are parking lots for trucks, container and railway areas, warehouses, a hangar for transshipment of goods into railcar and administrative buildings.
The Halkara Turkmen Logistik state-owned enterprise has its own fleet of 2,000 railcar, as well as cargo yards at border crossings in Sarakhs and at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
