BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The Turkmenabat Cotton Spinning factory, located in the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan, produced almost 2,770 tons of cotton yarn from January through April 2023, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Turkmenistan, this indicator is 10.6 percent less than the factory's production figures for the same period in 2022 (3,100 tons).
In value terms, the company manufactured products worth 51.7 million Turkmen manats ($14.76 million) in the first 4 months of this year which is 15.9 percent less than the figures for the same period last year.
The factory manufactured products from January through April 2022 in the amount of 61.5 million Turkmen manats ($17.5 million).
Turkmenistan plans to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of over 30 projects in the textile industry by 2025.
Major investments will be directed not only to expanding existing capacities but also to creating more than 10 new production facilities based on current enterprises.
