Turkmenistan sells large batch of heating oil to buyers from UAE, Malta

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Turkmenistan has sold a large batch of heating oil to businessmen from the UAE and Malta through its commodity exchange, Trend reports.

Turkmenistan sold a total of 60,000 tons of low-sulfur heating oil to businessmen from the UAE and Malta, the cost of which was estimated at $377.75 per ton. The total amount of transactions for the sale of heating oil amounted to $22.6 million.

Furthermore, Turkmenistan sold 7,500 tons of gasoline to an entrepreneur from UAE and Afghanistan for a total of $5.1 million ($681.25 per ton).

The production of fuel oil in Turkmenistan is of strategic importance for the country's energy sector. Turkmenistan has vast reserves of natural gas and oil, which makes it an important producer and exporter of energy resources.

Meanwhile, at the beginning of this year it became known that the Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex plans to build new technological facilities at its enterprises that will allow to bring the depth of oil refining to an indicator above 90 percent.

These enterprises will significantly increase the production of fuel oil in the country, which will affect its export potential.
