ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 29. The volume of retail trade turnover in the Lebap region located in the east of Turkmenistan reached 7.25 billion Turkmen manats ($2.07 million) from January through June this year, Trend reports.
According to official data, in these months the retail turnover of the region is 9.6 percent more than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in the Lebap region, there is a drop in prices for a number of agricultural products in June 2023, such as onions (by 20.6 percent), apples (by 10.3 percent), cabbage (by 8.1 percent) and greens (by 9.2 percent), compared to the same month last year.
In general, the average growth rate of retail trade turnover in Turkmenistan from January through June this year fluctuated around 9.5 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Retail trade turnover in Turkmenistan has continued to show stable growth over the past years, indicating the developing economy of the country. This growth was due to various factors, including an increase in the purchasing power of the population, the expansion of trade infrastructure and the variety of goods offered.
