ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 21. Turkmenistan's Turkmenenergo State Electric Power Corporation and the Afghan Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) energy company signed a joint protocol on the transmission of electricity to the Noor Al-Jihad Substation in the Afghan province of Herat, Trend reports.
According to the official source, the Turkmen side was represented by officials of the technical department and international projects, while the Afghan side was represented by the CEO of the company.
Prior to the protocol's signature, DABS and the Turkmen delegation had bilateral discussions.
A thorough examination of financial difficulties, as well as the choice of the project's start date, security precautions, and insurance, were the results of bilateral technical consultations.
Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are currently working to increase their energy supplies from 110 kV to 220 kV.
Afghan officials have recently stated that the implementation of the project on the supply of Turkmen electricity will solve the problems of the north-western province of the country.
