ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 1. Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian countries and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy in Berlin, expressed the country's interest in transport cooperation with German companies, Trend reports.
"For a number of years, we have successfully worked with German companies that participated in the implementation of projects to expand cellular network services, satellite systems, and sea transport," Berdimuhamedov said.
Furthermore, he stated that Ashgabat is ready for a substantive discussion with German companies on the development of railway transport, shipbuilding equipment, the effective use of transport and logistics capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, the opening of new forms of interaction in the field of telecommunications.
At the same time, Berdimuhamedov also invited German companies to participate in projects to digitalize the economy of Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany in the field of transport promise to be mutually beneficial, given the geographical location of Turkmenistan and its strategic role in the transport infrastructure of Central Asia. Germany, as a large European country, has technical and engineering experience that can be useful for the development of transport systems and logistics in Turkmenistan.
