Turkmenistan's agro-industrial sector experiences surge in production

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 11. Turkmenistan's agro-industrial sector saw an increase in production by 2.6 percent from January through November 2023, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, Tangryguly Atakhallyev, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He noted that during these months, the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan fulfilled the production plan by 102.7 percent, the Ministry of Environmental Protection - by 100.1 percent, the State Committee for Water Management - by 102 percent, and the 'Turkmen Atlary' State Association by 101.9 percent.

Furthermore, the official added that as part of the implementation of the program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028, the plan for the development of capital investments has been exceeded by 127 percent.

The economy of Turkmenistan places considerable emphasis on its agricultural sector, which includes vital crops like wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beets, forage, vegetables, melons, and a variety of fruit and berry crops.
