Turkmen-Russian mutual trade turnover crescendos

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 27. The mutual trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation in physical terms increased by 8 percent in the first 10 months of 2023, amounting to 535,000 tons, Trend reports.

This was stated by Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, during the 9th meeting of the High-level Group on Trade and Investment Support within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

According to him, during the specified period, in physical terms, Russian exports increased by 5.5 percent, and imports from Turkmenistan increased by 21 percent.

Furthermore, he noted that supplies from Turkmenistan to Russia for food products and agricultural raw materials increased by 33 percent, and for chemical industry products – by 57 percent.

Meanwhile, during the meeting in Moscow, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, conditions for improving mutual trade, promising joint projects in the fields of industry, energy, construction, state cadastre, as well as in the educational sphere.
