ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 24. Turkmen entrepreneurs have expressed interest in the possibility of placing the production of textiles and construction bitumen on the territory of Kazakhstan, with the subsequent possibility of selling these products in the same country, Trend reports.
According to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ashgabat, representatives from the business community of Turkmenistan expressed their interest during a business mission to Kazakhstan from February 19 through 23.
They visited enterprises within the industrial park of the 'Astana-Technopolis' Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and demonstrated keen interest in establishing production facilities there.
During the business tour, Turkmen businessmen met with the leadership of the Office for Investment and Entrepreneurship Development of the city of Astana, as well as with representatives of the State Center for Research and Development 'Astana Invest' LLP and Astana Development Center LLP.
Turkmen businessmen were provided with information on the mechanisms for implementing investment projects, both within the framework of the capital's special economic zone and under an investment contract.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed a wide range of issues related to investment cooperation, construction, chemical production, and innovation.
At the same time, the Kazakh side expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to the Turkmen side in the implementation of investment projects.
Meanwhile, the organization of a business mission in Almaty, Shymkent, Aktau, and Astana in the near future will continue the work on the development of Kazakh-Turkmen trade and economic and investment cooperation.
