ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 5. Textile production in Turkmenistan showed growth from January through February this year, exceeding the levels observed in the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
Batyr Atdaev, Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan's Government, made
this announcement during a Cabinet meeting.
According to him, throughout the defined period, firms under the
Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan produced 100 percent
of the cotton fabric planned.
Atdaev stated that in the first two months of this year, the goal
for the manufacture of clothes and knitwear was likewise 100
percent fulfilled, as was the plan for leather goods (106.1
percent).
Furthermore, he stated that the Turkmenhaly State Association's
firms exceeded the plan for carpet output by 4.2 percent.
Turkmenistan is focusing on the development of the textile industry
as part of its economic diversification strategy. The nation is
actively channeling investments into the upgrading of manufacturing
facilities, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, and the
enhancement of product quality.
