ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 5. The growth rate of Turkmenistan's industry amounted to 5.6 percent from January through February this year, compared with the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, made this
announcement during a Cabinet meeting.
According to him, the growth rate in commerce over the stipulated
period compared to the first two months of 2023 was 8.1 percent, in
transport and communications 6.6 percent, and in agriculture 3.9
percent.
Furthermore, Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the country's Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) statistics were unchanged from the start of
the year, at 6.3 percent.
Given the current position of the global economy, the head of state
emphasized the importance of taking proper measures to maintain the
attained growth rate.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has demonstrated steady growth in its economy through diverse initiatives in the energy, transportation, and infrastructure sectors.
The country is actively implementing strategies to attract foreign investments, prioritizing economic diversification, and improving the entrepreneurial climate.
