BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Turkmenistan imported chemical industry products totaling 7.9 million euros from EU countries in January this year, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
According to Eurostat, in the specified month, Turkmenistan's imports of chemical industry products from EU countries were almost 5 percent lower than in the same month last year, which amounted to 8.3 million euros.
At the same time, Turkmenistan's total imports from EU countries in January 2024 amounted to 40.71 million euros, where chemical industry products account for 19.4 percent.
In general, over the past year, Turkmenistan imported chemical industry products from EU countries totaling about 129.44 million euros, which is 16.5 percent more than imports in 2022, when they amounted to 111.12 million euros.
Meanwhile, in the first month of this year, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries amounted to more than 118.44 million euros, which is almost 89 percent more than in the same month of 2023, when it amounted to 62.74 million euros.
