IMF reveals Turkmenistan's real GDP growth forecast

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that the real growth of Turkmenistan's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 will be 2.3 percent, Trend reports.

According to official data, this amount increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the earlier October forecast (2.1 percent).

At the same time, the IMF also predicts that Turkmenistan's real GDP will also remain stable at 2.3 percent in 2025.

The data also show that Turkmenistan's real GDP for the whole of last year amounted to 2 percent, which is lower than forecasts for 2024 and 2025.

Meanwhile, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov recently noted that the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan from January through March 2024 remained stable at 6.3 percent.

The President added that during the specified period, the growth rate of Turkmenistan's industrial sector reached 4.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 6.6 percent, in the service sector - 7.6 percent, in trade - 8.2 percent, and in agriculture - 4.1 percent.
