ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 12. There are 13 enterprises registered in Turkmenistan at the moment, with the participation of South Korean capital, Trend reports.
This was stated by the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum on June 11.
"There are 13 enterprises registered in our country with the participation of the capital of the Republic of Korea. As you know, Turkmenistan's cooperation with the Republic of Korea has significantly intensified over the past few years. Such positive dynamics are inherent in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties, which have reached a higher level and received new content," he said.
At the same time, Berdimuhamedov stressed that an extensive portfolio of documents has been signed between the two countries to date.
"To date, 105 documents have been signed between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea relating to various fields, of which 26 are interstate and intergovernmental and 79 are interdepartmental. In recent years, bilateral trade and economic partnership have also significantly strengthened, which is constructive in nature," the chairman added.
Meanwhile, the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum was held within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, to Turkmenistan.
He visited Turkmenistan as part of a working visit to Central Asian countries such as Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
In line with these visits, South Korea plans to hold a six-party summit with Central Asian countries next year, namely Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, and hold the first series of meetings in South Korea.
