ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 5. Turkmenistan and the Philippines have held a discussion on trade and economic cooperation, Trend reports via the Interior Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen delegation visited the Clark Freeport Zone in the Philippines, where they met with representatives from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to explore potential cooperation.

The Philippine side provided a detailed presentation on the Clark-Freeport Zone and its environmentally friendly city project, while the Turkmen delegation toured the zone.

The Turkmen delegation expressed interest in exchanging experiences on the creation and management of free economic zones.

They also introduced the Filipino side to the new smart city of Arkadag, which opened just over a year ago, showcasing its key features, achievements, and plans for its second phase of construction.

The Turkmen delegation invited the Filipino team to visit Turkmenistan for a closer look at Arkadag and to build stronger connections.
