ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 17. Turkmenistan is interested in leveraging German technology and expertise to tackle transnational crime, Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at the "Central Asia-Germany" summit in Astana, Trend reports.
"Strengthening diplomatic relations between the states of the region and Germany, and jointly combating international terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and transnational crime will help transform Central Asia into a peaceful, stable, and economically attractive region. All this requires modern, effective protection mechanisms based on the latest scientific and technological developments, which Germany can provide," Berdimuhamedov stated.
The summit also highlighted Ashgabat's willingness to work with German institutions, particularly in monitoring and controlling these risks, and suggested developing joint algorithms for the mentioned areas.
The summit, featuring German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and leaders from Central Asia, keeps the ball rolling on the strategic partnership that was set in motion back in Berlin last September.
