Chinese delegation hold talks in Uzbek Senate

Chinese delegation led by deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress Chen Zhili met Chairman of the Uzbek Senate Ilgizar Sobirov on Friday, National News Agency of Uzbekistan reported.

Chen Zhili arrived in Tashkent as a special envoy of China's President Hu Jintao to participate in celebrations of the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China.

The sides noted during the meeting that the current visit of the Chinese delegation is a logical continuation of development of Uzbek-Chinese relations and an illustration of the further activization of inter-parliamentary ties.

"The current relations between our countries develop in accordance with the most topical requirements of the modern times," Chen Zhili said.

She said mutual respect and trust between heads of the states, solid legal base of Uzbek-Chinese relations are an important factor of further development.

"We are interested in the further strengthening of mutually beneficial partnership and friendship between our countries," special envoy of the Chinese leader said.

During the talks the sides exchanged opinions on the further expansion and strengthening of cooperation between our parliaments.

The Chinese delegation also visited Mustakillik square, Khazrati Imam complex and state museum of the Temurids history.
