WB: Uzbekistan's GDP to increase by 8 percent in 2012

The World Bank (WB) forecasts 8-percent growth in gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan in 2012, World Bank's report "Global Economic Prospects (GEP) 2012" published on Tuesday says.

The World Bank (WB) forecasts 8-percent growth in gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan in 2012, World Bank's report "Global Economic Prospects (GEP) 2012" published on Tuesday says.

According to the report, in 2013 Uzbekistan's economy will grow by 6.5 percent.
According to the World Bank estimates, in 2011 GDP growth in Uzbekistan was 8.3 percent, while current account surplus - 8.1 percent.

As it was previously reported, the Uzbek government forecasts GDP growth in 2012 at 8.2 percent.

Uzbekistan joined the World Bank in 1995. Since 1995, the Bank allocated loans to Uzbekistan worth about 1.46 billion for implementation of projects in the sphere of privatization, financial sector development, upgrading agriculture, energy, improving social infrastructure, health and education.
