Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan to discuss border delimitation again

Governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will again discuss issues of delimitation and demarcation of border next week, Uzbek government source told Trend on Wednesday.

At this time, the negotiations will take place in the Uzbek city of Namangan.

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have stepped up work on the delimitation and demarcation of the border. The previous meeting of the governmental delegations was held in Fergana (Uzbekistan) on June 26-30. Another meeting of governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border was held in Kyrgyz city of Osh on July 16-21. Then the parties held a joint field survey in some sections of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border. It is also noted that the meeting was held in a constructive and benevolent atmosphere.

The length of border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is 1,378 kilometers.
