The status and perspective of Uzbek-UK relations in political, trade, economic, military, technical, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres were discussed between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and the UK, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said on Nov.22.
An Uzbek delegation headed by the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov was on an official visit to the UK from Nov.20 to Nov.22.
Discussion took place during the meeting between Uzbekistan's foreign minister and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs William Hague.
The parties stressed that regular fruitful contacts under different conditions demonstrate a mutual inclination towards deepening of comprehensive relations and the formation of long term constructive relations by taking into account each other's interests.
The ministers had an exchange of views on international problems in the context of dynamic changes taking place in the world, particularly in Afghanistan and the Central Asian region.
The practical aspects of deepening the cooperation between education and culture institutions of the two countries were also considered at the meeting.
William Hague received an official invitation to visit Uzbekistan.
