General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan continues investigation of the criminal case against people close to the eldest daughter of the head of the state, Gulnara Karimova.
"The bodies of the prosecutor's office is continuing the investigation of the criminal case against a group of persons who, through fraud and illegal transactions recorded in Uzbekistan and abroad various fictitious structures engaged in obtaining illegal profits, money laundering, tax evasion, concealment of foreign exchange and withdrawal outside the country, " the Prosecutor General statement said on Feb.20.
Investigative actions are being conducted against ten persons.
"The investigation of the criminal case revealed that, the state and private companies suffered from large scale damage," the statement says.
The implementation of the principles of the inevitability of responsibility and equality before the law will be provided in accordance with the results of the investigation.
As previously reported, Rustam Madumarov, Gayane Avyakyan, and Yekaterina Klyuyeva - officials of Terra Group, Prime Media and Gamma Promotion, under the patronage of Karimova were questioned February 17, 2014. Criminal cases were filed against them under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic.
