Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov adopted a decree on the next call of Uzbek citizens to military service and transferring the servicemen, who have served their service terms, to the reserve of the armed forces.

Under the president's decree, which was earlier made public by the electronic media outlets, the Uzbek citizens of military age and not eligible for deferment will be called for military service in February-March 2015.

At the same time, under the decree, the citizens fit for military service and not eligible for deferral or exemption from it, but not called to the armed forces during the current conscription, will be included to the mobilization conscription reserve.

The servicemen, who have served their service terms, will be transferred to the reserve of the armed forces in March-April 2015.

The term of military service in Uzbekistan is 12 months, and the conscription is carried out once a year.

Uzbekistan also introduced a service of mobilization conscription reserve.

Those who didn't pass military service are enlisted to the mobilization conscription reserve after months of military trainings.

The Uzbek citizens, who have served their service terms in the armed forces, have privileges in employment and admission to higher educational institutions.
