Uzbek State Committee for Motor Roads purchased more than 100 units of road-repair and road-construction vehicles and equipment of Chinese production, the state committee said in its message.
The purchase was carried out as a part of implementation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s order “On measures on further improvement of road management” and decree “On organization of Uzbek State Committee for Motor Roads’ and Republic Road Fund under the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers’ activity”.
“The growing demand in construction and repair work on motor roads required creation of new and growing of existing capacities, strengthening of material and technical base of organizations and enterprises of the road construction complex, adequately to the volume of planned work. Considering the requirements, we decided to purchase 223 units of road-repair and road-construction vehicles and equipment during 2017—2018,” the state committee said.
According to the information, the vehicles and equipment were purchased from the Chinese Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co Ltd, which is a co-founder of the UzXCMG joint enterprise in Khorezm Region, that will allow establishing a wide network of repair depots across the republic and avoiding extra expenditures on technical service.
Among the purchased vehicles are combined rollers, road cutters, auto-graders, paving machines, asphalt plants, wheeled excavators with hydraulic hammers and caterpillar excavators.
Uzbekistan plans to purchase about 100 units of the road-repair and road-construction vehicles until the mid-2018, the state committee added.
