Aziz Abdukhakimov was appointed as the new deputy prime minister of Uzbekistan, as well as the head of the complex for education, healthcare, ecology, environmental protection, physical culture and sports, Uzbek media outlets reported.

The decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Abdukhakimov headed the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development since August 2017. Previously he also worked as the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations.

On May 25 Kakhramon Akmalov was removed from the post of deputy head of the prime minister.

Bakhtiyor Umarov, the first deputy minister of innovation development, was appointed as the new chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.
