Mirziyoyev to meet Putin, Modi and Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO Summit

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold meetings with leaders of Russia, China and India on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, scheduled for June 9-10 in the Chinese City of Qingdao, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdujabar Abduvakhitov said in an interview with Podrobno.uz agency in Tashkent City on the backstage of the presentation of the upcoming summit.

Within the framework of the SCO, all the meetings (of Shavkat Mirziyoyev) with the heads of states that have been planned will be held on the sidelines of the summit. For example, meetings with the Russian President, the Indian leader, as well as Mr. Xi Jinping have been scheduled," said Abduvakhitov.

Abduvakhitov clearly replied to the question of whether Uzbekistan plans to sign any bilateral documents in Qingdao that, this had not been envisaged.

"Uzbekistan has not envisaged signing interstate documents within the framework of the SCO, after all, cooperation in this organization is multilateral cooperation. I think that our bilateral contacts, including on the part of the president, are of the nature of continuing interaction between the countries," the official said.

He stressed that about 20 documents will be signed within the framework of the SCO Summit, and all of them are aimed at multilateral cooperation. The main document of the summit will be the Qingdao Declaration. It will consolidate the final decision of the SCO member states on the regional situation.

During the meeting, the members of the organization plan to discuss issues of regional security, trade and economic cooperation and the humanitarian sphere. In addition, a reception and a light show will be held in honor of the guests.
