The production of textile products in Uzbekistan from January through September increased by 11,8 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.
Some 4806 operating enterprises for the production of textile products in Uzbekistan manufactured goods worth 23.8 trillion ($2.30 billion), while the physical volume index compared to the same reported period increased by 11.8 percent.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the largest share in the total volume of products produced by textile enterprises of the country fell on the Fergana region - 14.8 percent (712 operating textile enterprises), Tashkent region - 10.6 percent (788), Samarkand region - 9.6 percent (359) and Tashkent city - 8.8 percent (388).
In addition, the export of textile products for 9M2020 amounted to $1.3 billion, which amounted to 10.8 percent of the total export of the country and increased by 14.6 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
Since the beginning of the year, 455 types of textile products have been exported to 60 countries of the world.
The Government of Uzbekistan is working on obtaining the status of a beneficiary country of European Union's system of preferences (GSP+) for Uzbek textile products, which will allow exporting the products to the EU market without duties.
