Uzbekistan reveals volume of agricultural, forestry, fishery production for 9M2020

The total volume of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production for 9M2020 amounted to 180.1 trillion soum ($17.4 billion), increasing by 3.4 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Statistic Committee.

The share of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries from January through September amounted to 25.7 percent in the structure of GDP (GVA - gross value added). The contribution of this industry to gross domestic product (GDP) growth as a whole reached 0.8 percent.

Some 97.1 percent of the total volume of products in agriculture, forestry, and fishery for 9M2020 falls to the share of crop and livestock farming, hunting, and services provided in these areas (for 9M2019 it amounted to 97 percent), 2.5 percent - forestry (2.5 percent), 0.4 percent - fisheries (0.5 percent).

In the context of regions, significant product volumes of agriculture, forestry, and fishery for the reported period were noted in Samarkand ($2.24 billion), Tashkent ($1.76 billion), and Andijan ($1.76 billion) regions.

At the same time, low volumes were observed in Syrdarya ($588 million), Karakalpakstan Republic ($599 million), and Navoi ($805 million) regions.

The Samarkand region in terms of the total volume of production (services) of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries occupies a leading position in Uzbekistan. A significant share in the production of agricultural products such as milk, potatoes, vegetables, and grapes belongs to this region.

A low share in the production of such agricultural products as meat, eggs, fruits, and berries was recorded in the Syrdarya region.

The share of the Samarkand region in the total production volume of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries of the country amounted to 12.9 percent, and it is the leader among the regions.

Tashkent and Andijan regions take the next places with indicators of 10.1 percent. The lowest share was noted in the Syrdarya (3.4 percent) region, Karakalpakstan Republic (3.5 percent), and in Navoi (4.6 percent) region

High growth rates were observed in Navoi (5 percent), Surkhandarya (4.7 percent), Khorezm (4.4 percent), Namangan (4.4 percent), Jizzakh (4.3 percent), Tashkent (4.1 percent), Fergana (4 percent) and Andijan (3.8 percent) regions.

Compared to other regions, low growth rates were noted in the Samarkand (0.7 percent) region, Karakalpakstan Republic (1.7 percent), and Kashkadarya (2.7 percent) regions.
