Uzbekistan’s 9M2020 livestock production revealed

The volume of livestock production in Uzbekistan from January through September 2020 amounted to 89.7 trillion soums ($8.66 billion), increasing by 2.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee.

The share of livestock products in the total volume of agricultural production in Uzbekistan over the past nine months amounted to 51.6 percent.

All categories of farms produced 1,839,500 tons of meat in live weight for 9M2020 (increasing by 2.2 percent 9M2019), 7,958,200 tons of milk (by 2, 9 percent), 5,458,700 million eggs (by 0.8 percent), 30,100 tons of wool (by 0.3 percent), 1,003,600 karakul (domestic sheep) skins (by 0.1 percent), and 59,851 tons of fish were caught (by 9.8 percent).

The largest volume of meat for the reported period was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms amounting to 1,705,900 tons, or 92.7 percent of the total volume of its production.

The smallest volume of meat production was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities amounting to 56,600 tons, or 3.1 percent of the total volume of its production.

As for production of milk, the largest volume of this product among the categories of farms was noted in dekhkan farms amounting to 7,537,600 tons, or 94.7 percent of the total volume of milk production.

At the same time, the largest volume of egg production was recorded in dekhkan farms amounting to 3,270,100 pieces, or 59.9 percent of their total production.

In the course of analyzing the indicators of fish catch by categories of farms, it was revealed that the main part of its catch was recorded in organizations engaged in agricultural activities accounting for 31,120 tons, or 52.0 percent of the total catch.
