The regulation on the procedure for control over the reception, accounting, targeted distribution, and targeted use of humanitarian aid and monitoring humanitarian projects in Uzbekistan has been supplemented with norms regarding the procedure for approving technical assistance projects, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s government decree.
The Cabinet of Ministers has made changes to some decisions in connection with the improvement of the state policy on economic development and poverty reduction in Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, together with the relevant ministries and departments, no later than May 31 of each year prepares a list of priority technical assistance projects to be funded by donors next year and, in agreement with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the list is submitted for consideration to the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, together with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Economic Development, and Poverty Reduction and other interested ministries and departments, no later than January 25 of each year prepares a list of projects to be developed in advance with donors for implementation this year. The list is submitted to the Government and approved by it before February 10.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade must submit a conclusion on the advisability of including the project proposal in the lists to the Ministry of Finance within 10 days from the date of receipt of the project proposal.
If the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade is responsible for the projects, they submit project proposals to the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance has the right to involve other ministries and departments related to the proposed area of project implementation in the consideration of the submitted project proposals, if necessary.
