Lion's share of chemical products exported from Uzbekistan falls on fertilizers

The enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat JSC in 2020 produced goods for 7.3 trillion soums ($698 million), which is 8.3 percent more compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the press service of the company.

According to Uzkimyosanoat JSC, the production of mineral fertilizers for the reported period amounted to 1.18 million tons, and chemical products – 244,400 tons.

At the same time, the industry's export volume in 2020 increased by eight percent to $188.9 million against $174.91 million in 2019. The bulk of them ($131.9 million) fell on mineral fertilizers. A total of 41 types of products were exported.

In 2020, the company launched seven large investment projects worth $1.2 billion. This year the Uzkimyosanoat plans to implement 33 promising projects worth $603 million, which will make it possible to manufacture products for more than $2.4 billion.

It is expected that in 2021 the volume of production of chemical products at the enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat JSC in monetary terms will amount to 9.3 trillion soums ($889 million). In particular, the production of pure mineral fertilizers will increase to 1.47 million tons.

Last year it was reported that Uzbekistan extended the sale of controlling stakes in the country's two largest chemical fertilizer plants to investors - Ferganaazot JSC and Dehkanabad Potash Plant.

According to the information, the sale of the state share of assets in the chemical industry was provided for by the development program of the chemical industry in Uzbekistan until 2030.
