Scientific experimental station of pistachio growing to be created in Uzbekistan

A scientific experimental station of pistachio growing will be created in Uzbekistan in 2021 in the form of a state institution at the Scientific Research Institute of Forestry on the basis of pistachio mother plantations on the Oktosh site of the Gallyaaral Department of the Jizzakh State Forestry, Trend reports citing Norma information and legal portal.

The decision has been approved according to the decree on measures to develop science and stimulate research in the field of forestry signed by the president of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that the goal of the mention projects is the development of pistachio farming, selection of new and high-yielding varieties and types of pistachios, zoning, as well as the organization of seminars, trainings, and other events on pistachio farming for foresters, farms, and family farms.

Also, according to the decree, the department for the coordination of the activities of scientific organizations and the introduction of innovations in the structure of the central office of the State Committee for Forestry will be created in 2021.

It was noted that the purpose of the department is training, retraining, advanced training, and systematic organization of foreign training of personnel in the field of forestry, as well as the widespread introduction of innovative developments into production.

Also, the department of Forest Economics in the structure of the Research Institute of Forestry will be established in 2021, whose purpose is to ensure the development and implementation of technological maps of forestry activities into forestry practice.

In addition, the Center for Analysis of Seed Production of Forest and Medicinal Plants will be transferred to the Scientific Research Institute of Forestry with the preservation of the material and technical base for the development of forest seed production.

Moreover, starting from January 1, 2021, 5 percent of total receipts to the Forestry Development Fund will be directed to support the activities of the Scientific Research Institute of Forestry and scientific organizations of its system, as well as material incentives for their employees.
