“I have discussed these topics with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umarzakov, who heads from the Uzbek side the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the meeting of which we are planning to hold this year. This will provide us with a suitable platform for exchanging ideas and bringing up specific issues for discussion,” the ambassador said.

Ben-Hillel also said that Israeli companies are interested in the areas of agricultural technology, greenhouses, water management and livestock, adding that there are many more areas of Israeli experience that are relevant and important to Uzbekistan's rapidly growing economy.

Commenting on joint projects with Uzbekistan in the field of agriculture, the ambassador said that some Israeli technologies have already been successfully introduced in Uzbekistan.

“These include drip irrigation developed by companies such as Netafim, water technology from Maya International and agrobiotechnology from Gadot-Agro,” Ben-Hillel said.

In addition, the ambassador noted other areas in which Israel and Uzbekistan can cooperate, such as precision farming, food processing and greenhouse technologies.
