Uzbekistan attracts investments for land developing in Tashkent region

Some 850 hectares of land were developed in the village of Yangiabad, Chinaz district, Tashkent region by attracting investments for $1.35 million, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

On March 18, 2021 President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Chinaz district of the Tashkent region to get acquainted with the work carried out in the water sector.

It is reported that three reservoirs with a total capacity of 202,000 cubic meters have been built on the sown areas, and drip irrigation has been introduced in the village of Yangiabad, Chinaz district, Tashkent region.

Also, on 702 hectares of virgin lands will be sown in double rows and Andijan-72 cotton varieties will be grown under the film. For this, modern seeders were brought in, capable of laying hoses for drip irrigation and covering the seeds with a film simultaneously with planting seeds.

Export-oriented melons and gourds will be grown on 148 hectares.

Due to the fact that the population is growing and the demand for agricultural products is growing, the president of Uzbekistan emphasized the need for economical and efficient use of water, keeping accurate records of it.

It is noted that all these issues are reflected in the Concept for the Development of the Water Economy of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030. In accordance with the concept, a three-year strategy for water resources management and development of the irrigation sector was adopted.

“The program sets specific tasks for the expansion and state stimulation of the introduction of water-saving technologies and attracting foreign investment in this area,” the president said.
