French Development Agency (FDA) expressed readiness to provide bilateral technical and financial assistance for the further implementation of the Green Economy Strategy of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan.
The mentioned issue was discussed at a meeting held in the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction with the mission of the FDA headed by the director of the FDA office in Tashkent Vincent Caupin.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the proposed approaches to the new program of budgetary support (Policy Based Lone), the current status and implementation of the Green Economy Strategy of Uzbekistan, the key areas of the developed action plan for the implementation of the strategy, as well as the involvement of interested ministries and departments.
The French side made a presentation on the foundations for the transition to green fiscal rules and their benefits, reporting that the FDA has engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for an in-depth study analyzing the practice of green budgeting in Uzbekistan as one of the pilot countries.
The FDA noted that the agency is committed to improving the quality of its services and supporting its partners in green budgeting and budgeting mechanisms to act as real structural instruments for the transition to a low-carbon economy and achieving nationally determined contributions.
French Development Agency (FDA) is a public financial institution that implements the policy of the French Government. The main goal of the FDA is to fight poverty and support sustainable development by financing (loans and grants) projects to improve life and green projects.
