X Holding, a Russian diversified IT group, is completing the first stage of a project to develop a concept and a roadmap for digitalization of Uzbekistan’s fuel-energy complex, which was launched in Tashkent on February 11, 2021, Trend reports referring to the local media.

Joint working groups, which included experts from the holding and representatives of Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry, made over 200 trips throughout the country and conducted more than 400 interviews among employees of the largest fuel-energy enterprises of the country.

“We have prepared a description of the current state of automation and digitalization of the seven largest state-owned companies in Uzbekistan. Thus, by the end of April, 2021, a report will be submitted to the governing council, which will include the Energy Ministry’s Head Alisher Sultanov,” the Vice President of X Holding Stanislav Kiselev said.

“Then we’ll proceed to the second stage, during which a detailed roadmap will be developed and a list of projects will be agreed that will significantly improve the efficiency of enterprises, reduce their operating costs and cost prices, improve the quality of customer focus towards the end consumer and lay the foundation for the further development of the two industries,” Kiselev said.

According to Kiselev, the multidisciplinary IT group has sufficient competence and the number of specialized specialists to implement the entire project on its own.

"We point-wise attract industrial experts where necessary. This mainly concerns international experience. We cooperate with a number of large foreign companies, which allows us to find the best solution that we can apply for companies in Uzbekistan, but in general, we will completely project implement it with your own team," he added.

The vice-president also emphasized that during meetings with representatives of the fuel-energy enterprises of Uzbekistan, young specialists have shown great interest in the digitalization of business processes. According to him, the specialists want to see technologies in their enterprises that they have only read about before.

“Our mission is to create jobs, train young people and reduce the outflow of workers from enterprises to other cities, regions and countries,” explained Kiselev. “We want to prove in practice that technology is not a replacement for a person, but, on the contrary, a convenient tool for improving efficiency ".

The contract for the provision of services between X Holding and the Energy Ministry of Uzbekistan was signed on December 15, 2020 at the country’s Embassy in Russian Moscow. The document was signed by the head of X Holding Anton Cherepennikov and the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Extra-budgetary Inter-Departmental Fund for Energy Saving under the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
