Uzbekistan’s Mubarek gas processing plant launches sodium sulfide production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14

Trend:

Sodium sulfide production has been launched at Uzbekistan’s Mubarek gas processing plant, Trend reports on April 14 referring to the Uzbek media.

The scientists of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Almalyk branch of the Tashkent State Technical University, Kimeviy Tekhnologlar LLC and the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant jointly obtained the results on the production of sodium sulfide product from hydrogen sulfide contained in acid gases emitted from technological units.

This product is a new import-substituting product not only for the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant but also for the country.

The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant annually imports 1,350 tons of sodium sulfide products for the extraction of precious rare metals from ore.

These new products will be produced on the basis of the planned measures included in the program for the localization of imported products in Uzbekistan and will make a great contribution to the economy of the country.
