Russian company acquires controlling stake of Uzbek paper manufacturer

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19

Russian Management Company Nicole-Pak LLC acquired 99.84 percent of the securities of the Angren JSC II Angren pack, a leading enterprise of the paper industry in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the Unified portal of corporate information.

Angren pack Joint Stock Company is the largest manufacturer of containerboard, paper and corrugated packaging in Central Asia, as well as a major manufacturer of toilet paper, paper napkins and towels.

Today the production capacity of Angren pack amounts to 50,000 tons of paper and 35 million meters of corrugated board per year. The plant's products are in demand not only in the domestic market but also in neighboring countries. It is a successful exporter of paper products to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and others.

It is noted that the consumers of the plant's products are the leading enterprises of food, fat and oil, wine and vodka, textile and light industry, pharmaceutical and other industries.

The plant produces paper for corrugation, cardboard, corrugated boxes of various purposes and types with multi-color printing, glued and binding cardboard for the printing and book industries, toilet paper and paper napkins from waste paper.

Also, In June 2018, the Russian company Nikol-Pak bought out the controlling stake of the Sanoatqalinqogozsavdo OJSC (formerly Promkartontorg), which was acquired in 2011 by the Czech company Paper Mill Holding in order to introduce new technologies into production and improve the quality of products to the level of European standards.
