The South Korean company CelluFab plans to launch the production of products in the Keles district of the Tashkent region, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.
According to the information, the cost of the project amounts to $5.9 million. The project is planned to be implemented until 2022. At the moment, construction work has already begun and the selection of suppliers for the purchase of equipment.
In December last year, it was reported that several projects are being implemented in Uzbekistan in cooperation with foreign investors and international financial institutions in the field of solid waste management, infrastructure development, landfill optimization, construction of reloading stations and waste processing facilities. The total cost of the projects accounts for $364 million
It was noted that the necessary infrastructure has been created in all regions of Uzbekistan for the implementation of work related to waste. In particular, in the field of sanitary cleaning, the activities of 13 state unitary enterprises Toza hudud and their 174 branches, Makhsustrans and 101 private enterprises have been established. To date, the coverage of the provision of sanitary services in the regions accounts for 71 percent.
Also, $989,000 of investment funds were used within the framework of the project for the production of electricity due to the processing of exhaust gases generated at the Okhangaron and Maidontol landfills of the Tashkent region. This project is being implemented with the assistance of the South Korean company Sejin G&E Co. Ltd.
