Central Bank discloses Uzbekistan’s total external debt

Trend:

The total external debt of the Republic of Uzbekistan reached $34.2 billion as of April 1, 2021, increasing by one percent or by $310.6 million compared to early 2021, Trend reports referring to the report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The private sector attracted loans totaling $1.3 billion during the first quarter of 2021.

The funds were mainly borrowed by banks - $907.5 billion, the oil and gas and energy sector attracted $179.8 million, and enterprises from other sectors of the economy - $349.0 million.

At the same time, during the reporting period, the main debt and interest were repaid in the amount of $200 million and $67 million, respectively.

The payments on private external debt reached $687 billion on main debt and $94.3 million on interest.

At the same time, banks, oil, gas, energy enterprises make the biggest volume of payments both on main debt and interest.
